Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

The right to privacy is an integral human right recognised and protected in the South African Constitution and in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI Act”). Through the provision of quality goods and services, Company Partners (Pty) Ltd (“the Company”/”we”) is necessarily involved in the collection, use and disclosure of certain aspects of the personal information of clients, employees and other stakeholders. The Company respects the privacy of all persons, and we undertake to handle all personal information with due care and the necessary safeguards.

The purpose of this policy is to protect the privacy of data subjects and to manage their personal information by establishing clear guidelines for the handling of such information by the Company and its representatives, in accordance with the provisions of the POPI Act.

This policy applies to all directors and employees of the Company, as well as all third parties handling personal information for or on behalf of the Company (collectively, “Company representatives”).

Data Subject means the person to whom personal information relates.

Electronic Communication means any text, voice, sound or image message sent over an electronic communications network which is stored in the network or in the recipient’s terminal equipment until it is collected by the recipient.

Information Officer means the Information Officer identified in paragraph 14.

Person means a natural person or a juristic person.

Personal Information means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person, including, but not limited to –

(a) information relating to the race, gender, sex, pregnancy, marital status, national, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental health, well-being, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth of the person,
(b) information relating to the education or the medical, financial, criminal or employment history of the person,
(c) any identifying number, symbol, e-mail address, physical address, telephone number, location information, online identifier or other particular assignment to the person,
(d) the biometric information of the person,
(e) the personal opinions, views or preferences of the person,
(f) correspondence sent by the person that is implicitly or explicitly of a private or confidential nature or further correspondence that would reveal the contents of the original correspondence,
(g) the views or opinions of another individual about the person, and
(h) the name of the person if it appears with other personal information relating to the person or if the disclosure of the name itself would reveal information about the person.

Processing means any operation or activity or any set of operations, whether or not by automatic means, concerning personal information, including –

(a) the collection, receipt, recording, organisation, collation, storage, updating or modification, retrieval, alteration, consultation or use,
(b) dissemination by means of transmission, distribution or making available in any other form, or
(c) merging, linking, as well as restriction, degradation, erasure or destruction of information.

5. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal information:

• Identity Information: Name, surname, identity or passport number.
• Contact Information: Email address, telephone numbers, physical address, postal address.
• Transaction Information: Payment details, banking details, billing information, financial information, tax information, registration numbers, license numbers.
• Technical Information: IP address, browser type, device information, usage data from our website.

• public records (e.g., CIPC, deeds registry, credit bureaus), and
